Girl

I look into the mirror

and all that I see

is a stranger staring back at me

she has blond hair, brown eyes, fair skin

but should you know her from within

you'll see a world unlike anyother

crumbling down the walls around her

holding pieces of the past

while looking back at yesteryear

you'll find a smiling happy girl

where she went I cannot say

though I do know now her hope is gone

all is replaced by pain and fear

she looks looks at the world thru negative eyes

and holds her sorrow deep inside

her hair dyed black with a soul to match

surrounds herself in walls of gray

and knows she'll never be the same

This poem is really powerful. It takes alot of imagination to create feelings as real as you created them, but maybe cus I feel like that sometimes...:/. But great Job, this one is going in my favs!!!

I'm sure that the little girl is there somewhere, alone and forgotten. If you search hard enough and you want her to come back she can be found. This poem was very good. Written from the heart. You bring us so close to yourself with your descriptions, well done.

Oh goodness! Such fear and sorrow throughout this poem. When I read this, I can't help to wonder what on earth happened to this poor innocent girl to feel like this--to call her soul black when in the reader's eyes it is white, pure and unsoiled. Excellent writing!
