Empty Frames

Empty Frames

A Poem by Michelle Lea
"

for my Nannie aka grandmother that passed away April 20, 2009

"

       Empty picture frames...

as empty as my heart

at this time

       Empty picture frames...

all of the memories

have left the mind

       Empty picture frames...

pictureless___

       therefore thoughtless___

               a never ending aching___

                              for the heartless___

Walls with picture frames within the home...

________Images forever gone _________

You just disappeared out of our lives...

just like the pictures in the frames

          Leaving us

with empty hearts

           Leaving us

with empty frames.

there is nothing harder or more painful than the loss of a loved one. the way you broke down the lines in this poem expresses this pain very well.
