Sounds like the boy is in love with beauty, or addicted.

Runs out of the will to live

Asks god why

starts to pray for his turn for someone with beauty

.........

If I am right. This maybe half the men in the world, lol. Sadly.

Thank you for the read.

A lot of emotion in those four lines. The ten dollar words (transfixes, devoid, vitality, beseeching, deity, piety) all really had a complexity to this poem. Great read.

So much said in four lines. I love the simple extravagence.

Ohh, I really like this piece, Brian. Having been on the losing end of love more than once, I surely can relate to it. Very nice.

The clasping hands ... strong, vivid. Nice.

Wow, I really enjoyed this piece. Love can truly chew us up, and spit us out. But there is always hope of finding that right...person. Keep up the great writes.
