The park where the flowers lay

The park where the flowers lay

A Poem by Niko

I took a walk to the park one day,
            The park where the flowers lay;
A visit, I thought, to my love I’d pay,
            And “I love you,” to her I would say.

The way there was long, and so long I did walk,
            And all the while I did perspire;
I dreamt of our talks and remembered our walks,
            And just to hear her words I desired.

I finally arrived and saw the place she lay,
            The place, there, under the tree.
But to my surprise, though I did not ask “why?”
            She did hardly look at me.

Straight ahead toward the sky, gazed her eyes,
            Oblivious to those gathered ‘round.
So I continued my walk, and pulled out my flower,
            And walked without a sound.

And as I approached, my words did choke,
            Unable in words to repay
Her limitless love, so I just planted a kiss,
            And placed my flower where her body lay.

Awww... so sad and sweet! I know how you feel because I have lost my Grandpa before too and I was only about seven years old. It was really beautiful! Keep it up! :) I'll give this 100 points.
