Musings...

A Poem by Nolo Segundo
"

If you live long enough, one day you may wonder, Did I do all I might have with what I had?

"
Could the words have come?
Could I have made whole worlds
peopled with the good and bad,
and all the happy and all the sad?

Could I have dared to eat a peach,
and boldly painted outside the lines?
What might I have made of my life if
I had only tried to fly without wings?

But life is as it wills itself,
forever as it should be,
forever as it must be....

I favoured these two lines:
'Could I have dared to eat a peach,
and boldly painted outside the lines?'

The fact that a peach could be daring brought a smile to my face. Your words are nostalgic; looking back upon one's younger self and wishing... which we all seem to do, usually in the dead of night until the sun breaks our reverie. This piece is philosophical, romantic and beholds truth in the same breath.

Your poem asks questions and thus, provokes. It allows one to think 'what if?' You are testing the boundaries throughout and metaphorically do so by your deviance of painting outside of those lines that society entraps us. Of course, it's all for the greater good; right?.. :)

very well presented the fear of daring... it is sad...
and live should be written different for each one and for each day! I think we all should dare be different and try to "brake the rules"!
