Love

Love

A Poem by mae23

It burns.

Deep into the night,

Alighting candles, torches, and hearts.

It heals.

Fixing the broken,

Picking up smashed, shattered, and torn pieces.

It buzzes.

Vibrating constantly,

Creating sound, feeling, and motion.

It warms.

With passion,

Heating the mind, body, and soul.

It stings.

A sharp prick,

Feeling loss, pain, and fear.

It is it’s own being.

It sways through crowds,

Jumps on trains,

Flies in the wind,

Pulls on doors,

And exclaims when hurt.

We are made of it and we make sure it never dies.

Living on eternally, inside of us.

Isn't it amazing that "love' can conjure such a variety of feelings, move us to such strong emotions? I think you did a wonderful piece of work in evoking these for us to see.

Take care - Dave

I like how you used both the aspects of healing and pain to define love, and I adore how you tied it together with it being something within us that we must keep alive. Beautifully written.

Love indeed, does live inside of us...
Well done, keep it up!
