Simplicity

Simplicity is the key to happiness

small things that make your heart soar

and give you joy and sheer pleasure.

From looking out your window to a perfect

morning the birds singing outside. The sun

shining.

To the smell of fresh cut grass.

Maybe even standing outside in the rain

and the droplets falling on your face and

body making you giggle and smile.

To even just a smile or a friendly hello from

a complete stranger can give you lift.

Not having to buy an expensive car

or a fancy home with the latest

 modern gadgets to use inside it

when your bored and want a bit of

excitement and so-called fun to

show off towards others.

But a walk in the countryside.

Fishing by the river with a friend.

Or even just going and visiting your family.

That you have not seen for a long time.

Those are golden moments to enjoy and saviour.

Holding hands with your loved one.

Cosying up on the sofa. Watching Tv.

Those simple pleasure that means so much.

and give a whole lot.

Dawn you hit the nail on the head here, its the simple things in life that are most important, friends family walks in park or lake, feeding ducks, taking pictures, etc, just the free things, that are so hard to get back when they are gone. I loved your simplicity poem great work

This is a really great poem which sums up a sentiment I so agree with: Enjoying the simple pleasures of life. The choice of words for instance 'the smell of clean cut grass' captures a vivid picture, in other words, the ideas come to life, they jump off the page so to speak.
