A Final Goodbye

A Final Goodbye

A Poem by Yuko
"

The most peaceful goodbye

"

The sky is clear,

A colorless blanket,

That will cover me in my slumber.

White snowflakes dance

Into my outstretched palm,

Warm to my numb fingers.

The air is still,

Without even a gentle breeze,

Yet there is music,

Resounding from the sky,

A melancholic voice to sing me to sleep.

My eyes drift shut

As I utter a final goodbye

And I smile

Without a trace of a teardrop.

Author's Note

Yuko
I so took the last two lines from Free (sung by the awesome Brooke White--we love you Brookie!). It just seemed appropriate for the poem. Anyway, this idea came to me randomly as I was thinking about a snowy day a couple of years ago.

Ugh, this sucks soooo badly. Oh well. Might fix it one day in the future.
