Creed

Creed

A Poem by Pete

Oh so tired.
Muck and mired.
Pain squired.
You can cry.
You can plead.
Lift up every need.
Clanging bell.
Welcome to Hell.
Hopelessness' knell.
Reaching out.
Shadows of doubt.
Fingers clinging to life's cliff.
Clutching Heaven's last riff.

Gasping for God's breath.
I've tasted death.
Walking barren land.
Making a stand.
Passing through parted seas.
Surrendering me.
Running on fumes.
Eternity looms.
Doubt blooms.
Names written upon a scroll.
Consider my weeping soul.
For my heart to need.
Plant a seed.
Let it bleed.
Oh grant me your creed ...

Very intense, very spiritual, and this may sound odd but the final line I love the best...so passionate.... reminds me of my favorite author, D.H. Lawrence.
