Keepsake

A Poem by Pete

I think that there is nothing, not even crime, more opposed to poetry, to philosophy, ay, to life itself than this incessant business. - Thoreau

There comes a time when all worldly things have been stripped away.
No longer leading astray.
Accosted by inextricable humility.
Vulnerable to our own nobility.
It is exactly at this time that we find out who we really are and what we are about.
When a whisper turns to a shout.
Deep down inside.
Tears falling as an unwelcomed reminder.
Removing life's stubborn blinder.
Along for the ride.
Relinquishing all pride.
Standing steadfastly alone at cluttered spirit's wake.
Clinging to truth like a precious...
... keepsake ...

I must admit as one, never got all this religious keepsake and memorabilia to believe in God and religion. That is just me. If you believe strongly and powerful enough in God or whoever that should be more than enough. That a graven image of your namesake you adore and love. As a plastic figurine and a wooden cross, is not going to save you. But then again it's a sign to them of who they cherish. So each to their own way I guess. Good Poem Pete. Liked it a whole lot.

'Keepsake'
Pete,
Gotta start somewhere...it's a process, Is it ritual? Connected to an icon. It is a discovery. Then we find out it is a real person. Then we find out this person is real. Then we find out this person is like us in humanity and created us. Then we find out God loves us and is great, mighty and that we are fit perfectly to be His dwelling place: all knowing, full of grace..... This Holy One fills all, and is in all and through all. We need Jesus. God is Spirit and they who worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and in Truth.

the basic essence of life is to live life as a good person... but what makes man live amidst complexities is only one thing and that is greed... but then man evolves so with life so there comes a time man realize something that he is alive and living because he needs to know and must know about the real essence of humanity... the philosophical truth to being.
