Searching for something...

a wee poem about looking for a fulfilling hobby/interest

"Searching for something.."

Monday again, the weekend just flew

I'm sitting in writer's café, when so much to do

I missed the gym this morning, went back to bed instead

when the kids went to school, we rested head by head

I'm searching for a project, something really worthwhile

Something that will make a difference, make some people smile

I don't know what it is yet, haven't got a clue

I'm waiting on my angel cards to tell me what to do

But in the meantime I'll clean my house and do a real good job

Then put some groovy tunes on, make some yummy food for my mob

and when they come home, they come home to a tidy house

and freshly ironed clothes for school trousers, skirts and blouse

and a mum who always welcomes them with a hug and kiss

 I always tell them too they are the ones I miss

Some people say, is that enough you could work 9-5

but that kind of office job never made me feel alive

I like to be there to see the looks on my kids face

when they come home from school no worries I can trace

Now they are teens they need me more and more

Just because they're older, does not mean just ignore

My kids come first and always will, don't care what anyone says

We brought them up no help at all and to the lord I praise

I just need a small interest, something just for me

and when I find that something how happy I will be

Bless you KTB,
Your life within the lives of your family is like a strong gossamer thread which holds. A busy life with purpose is so beautiful. What is so permanent or holds a future and a legacy as does that of a Mother, wife, and homemaker. The world spins better when these things are intact. I hope you continue to remember what and who you are, someone precious and of great value.
