The Pulse Stopped

The Pulse Stopped

A Poem by raj24
"

Its something i wrote for a friend, when her father expired, its painful to let go someone.

"

The Pulse Stopped

The pulse stopped, so have I,
I was supposed to move on, but how could I.

Touch of your hand is still there,
Every time I look back I find you here.

How can I forget the strength you gave me?
How can I resist the pain your absence gives me?

It’s hard to forget the moments I walked holding your fingers all the time,
It’s hard to stop crying thinking how much I miss you dad all the time.

My first day at school & you leaving me on the door,
I still remember your smile saying don’t worry I will always be there to hold.

Whenever I lost, whenever I won,
It was just you dad who made me to move on.

Last night I saw you in my dreams,
I thought I lost you, but no you are still here, saying Hi to me.

Your last moments they still hurt,

But I know I have to smile,

Because somewhere I know you want me to smile,
Today the pulse has stopped, so have I,

But telling you truth dad, I miss being on your side.

very touching, moving write that shows the empathy that you feel for them.. Loss is such a difficult thing.. you feel like part of you is missing.. like part of you died that day... the shock of knowing that things will never be the same.. that you will never see them again.. the memories become your comfort and your curse as waves of emotion try to drown you in despair.. during those times, it was a blessing, I am sure, to have a friend like you.. very real, honest, beautiful piece...

This was a beautiful gift for your friend and very sad, but also touching. Sometimes all we need is for someone to reach out to us when we are in mourning. Well done, I am sure they were very thankful for this.
