Rain in Slow Motion

Rain in Slow Motion

A Poem by Roland Petrov
"

A haiku for Mattavelli's water haiku competition.

"

There'd be lots to watch

on raindrops in slow motion:

Many short movies

My Dear Friend Roland,

There is more to composing well in the economic Senryu form and contained in a raindrop than most might think, but you've brought it to life and made it look easy … this amazing picture you chose, perfectly exemplifies the mood and moment of your imaginatively luring title.

Quote:

“Brushing the clouds away from my eyes,
I see clarity in the raindrop
and beauty in the first ray of morning sun...
Life is strange and wondrous...”

― Virginia Alison, Noted Poet

I share Virginia's thoughtful words here to honor and gift further validation to the powerful imagery of your own masterful piece.

A most brilliant work, Roland … I've become lost in the thoughts and imagery you inspired!
Thank you for beginning my day so magically and beautifully, My Friend! ~ Richard : )

(psst! for presentation [if the site will let you] center the picture and poem)

Ironically, my newest post is, also, about rain: "Your Sweet Rain" … great minds, eh?

Indeed, there's a story and more inside each little drop of rain. Lovely writing, Roland.

The haiku is a wonderful concept of writing, isn't it? I am an avid pluviophile, and I adore this, Roland!

I really liked how you embraced the slow movement of the drop on a surface leaving behind a silent film to discover.
I liked it :D
