I had empty years

I knew not of life’s joy

Was forsaken--empty

And a joyous day

When awoke my dreams

This lyrics were powerful and the melody only helped it. An emotional write that I was very glad when it ended happy! You can see how much strength and power love gives the person speaking of it. It’s vivid and colorful and feels ever strong and even elegant. I loved the concept of time being a friend rather than anything else. Usually, it’s an enemy. It really takes you for a whirl as you read it and you can’t put it down. It genuinely accurately portrays how fulfilling love is, and all the time it took to finally get there. And how through all that time, waiting, you love her and that’s all that matters. Thank you so much for sharing such a beautiful piece.

Dear Rick,

Time begins for each individual when we take our first breath, and ends in this life with the last breath we take. We are changed, we are transformed during the stages of existence. We know the love of our family, we develop friendships, and life continues as the "Now" blends with the Past.

The image you have chosen beautifully illustrates the long progression of events that brings us to the present; again I refer to the beginning and the end. The music is soothing, and settles on one like a gentle breeze blowing in from the ocean.

As ever, when joy is found one is able to fully comprehend the journey we take in getting to that place; sorrow and pain comes as well in this journey but it is when we feel the joy we are able to deal with the sorrow and pain that allows us to be redeemed.

And it is love that meshes every second, every day, every year together into that which becomes timeless as it is love that is not defeated.

A beautiful piece of music by your friend Skip has served as wonderful inspiration for your words which bring it to life in a timeless sort of way!
