tell me

tell me

A Poem by Ryn

-tell me. when you mess up do you lay awake at night cursing your own name? do you draw lines of red on your pretty skin to remind yourself how imperfect you are? tell me. when you have a good day is it because of someone else? or is it because you went to the lake and traced lines in the sand instead of your skin. tell me. when someone tells you of how beautiful you've become do you ever believe them? or do you think of what is beneath your sleeves and jeans, and that if they really knew what happened late at night, they would never speak to you again. tell me. do you cry anymore? or do you lay awake at night begging to feel again because the emptiness is deafening. please tell me. please tell me because i want to tell you something.
all of those things you do, you never deserve. all of those lines you draw will one day fade. and darling dont you know that perfect is just something we all made up. i promise i will love you no matter what lies beneath your skin. and darling someone is going to love you more than i ever can. i know that the emptiness that haunts you is becoming an anchor to weigh you down. but darling one day you will feel everything again. you just have to break down your own walls and learn to love every inch of your skin. every bump and curve and mark. i promise one day you will be able to love yourself. please. remember that you are worth love. you are worth all of the things you keep from yourself. tell me. do you have what it takes to get better? its a long road and its not going to be easy. but i promise it will all be worth it in the end-
