MARY WROTE A LITTLE POEM

MARY WROTE A LITTLE POEM

A Poem by Salvatore Buttaci

Mary had a little iamb
Unstressed and stressed it flowed,
And when this little poet wrote,
The words would, measured, go.
She followed that with a trochée
Which was not against the rule;
It helped avoid the sing-song play
Of a poem she wrote in school.

Clever, Sal! Loved that line ..unstressed and stressed it flowed. The play on words worked well in this piece. kudos!

My poem on the "iamb":

IAMB: a Jealous God, quoth He,
I'll quash your spontaneity!
My foot confuses
Would-be Muses,
And stresses most distressingly!
