Life In A Sesational World

A Poem in honor of all those with autism or disorders on the autism spectrum

Crash, Boom, Bang, Pop!

Hey that hurts please stop!

That noise hurts my ears

It ignites my wildest fears

Please don’t give me a hug

And a really hot coffee mug

For I will scream very loudly

As my world becomes cloudy

I hate large needles and shots

That twist my tummy into knots

My mind senses danger is ahead

And that I will very soon be dead

This world of fear is my enemy

And also is my own personal bully

It tells me to always be afraid

And to live in terror every day

People give me strange looks

And judge me like new books

They tell me to get a new life

In all their anger, grief and strife

Kermit said on the silver screen

It is not always easy being green

I know that I need not be afraid

For Jesus is with me every day

Author's Note

I hope you enjoy this poem, it is very special to me because I have SPD or Sensory Processing Disorder, which is one of the several diseases that are on the autism spectrum. Input and thoughts are also welcome and greatly appreciated.
