Blessed with gifts

That you don’t even use

God gave you legs to walk

 But you refuse to move

 

To express and talk

He gave you a voice

But when it's time to speak up

You’re silent by choice

 

Wasting all of your talents and potential

Squandering your chance to be influential

What if it all was taken away?

Where would you be today?

  

You have all you need

To thrive and maintain

But yet and still

 You sit and complain

 

Concerned with the treasures

That others hold

Adoring their gifts

And neglecting your own

 

Chasing after the material

The silver and gold

Forgetting about the spiritual

Your mind and your soul

 

How dare you reject

The Father's amazing grace

The ultimate disrespect

I dedicate this poem to all those ignorant people I left behind in my neighbor before I when to college. Every day I watched people like this, I'm talking very talented people throwing their lives away for fast money, hoes, and clothes. I go back to see them from time to time and they still have not amounted to nothing.

The image in the beginning is hilarious before reading the poem.

I like this truthful reminder.
As the old cliche says: YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU GOT UNTIL IT'S GONE.
Therefore I believe that we all must learn to appreciate what we have in health, knowledge and wisdom. And we should be able to recognizw our own talent, nurture it, and do something productive about it.
We should not let materialism be our main priority.

I really enjoyed reading this poem, it sounds really nice when read out loud. It's got a great flow that keeps the reader entranced in your words. The words used were nicely chosen. There are various noticeable literary elements in here as well. This really deserves more reviews! Great work.
