That Night

That Night

A Poem by Sirius King

That Night

The stars humbly dimmed their light

They could not compete

Your beauty shined so bright

Your smile sang

Sweet tunes to the moon

As the wind gently

Danced with your perfume

The clouds emulated

The perfect curls in your hair

The trees carried our laughter

Echoing through air

Every small caress felt

Magnified by ten times

Dawn slowed its pace

As our heartbeats

Turned into clock chimes

A drop of pure bliss

Hidden in every kiss

Roses blushed

 As our bodies touched

Sending an adrenaline rush

Through both of us

The darkness commanded silence

As I stared into your eyes

A muted conversation commenced

Understood by only you and I

The scene was so beautiful

Something only a poet could write

I could live out this moment

For the rest of my life

No matter what the future brings,

I’ll never lose sight…

That everything was

Just right

…That night
