The Anagrams

The Anagrams

A Poem by OtherWorldWoman

Will you ever see the anagram
beneath my mellow gaze
from across the room?
Decode my half-torn smile
as I step out into the open air
away from you?
Clinging to the lingerings
of the image of your face
before you closed the door...
That one grin I failed to read
The things we wish we had done
Before we said goodbye
All the falsities
And the things that could or could never be
The more we assume
What are we doing here?
And why are we so afraid
of denial?
For silence is just as ferocious
As confrontation
Tell me.
Will I ever again feel your lips
on mine
Your fingers through my hair
Your whispers in my ear?
What are we doing here?
And why are we so afraid?

Wonderful! I liked it a lot. Beautiful consistancy and a great rhyming scheme. I truely enjoyed reading this.
