Star Crossed

Star Crossed

A Poem by Norma M Sutton
"

Team Renfield

"
Round and round the bottle spun
Coming slowly to a stop
Glowing in the setting sun
Lovers towards each other hop

Later in the dark of night
Silence is broken with weeping
Turning on a amber light
Wishing she was sleeping

Longing for the coming morn
Daylight chasing loneliness away
Still she feels forlorn
As she faces the new day

Author's Note

Norma M Sutton
I think we should experiment with different forms today. If you choose to

write a poem, make it a sonnet or a sestina. If you write a story, it must be in

epistolary form. It is set in the nighttime, and there should be a bottle

involved.
Oh it's so obscure and specific!

Beautiful... when I read the title I figured this would be solely about two starcrossed lovers finding their way to one another. Instead I found this to be more about the consequences on the females side of this 'starcrossed lovers' though it felt more like unrequited love (though that may just be me). Well, very good. Love it.
