Amputee World

The world is like an amputee, no legs or arms to support it.

the setting sun going its way

i walk down the path of decay

left foot right

on every corner ready to fight

for the truth of life

until i feel in my back the knife

no one sees the dark shadows

like i see the burrows

lurking with death in every corner

alas i wonder

will i set us free

in a world amputee

First english poem in years. My first Afrikaans poetry book is already published! SO I can say I am a published writer :D

I love the word choice and the faint bit of suspense that made my heart quicken when you mentioned the fight and the knife.
