truth and doubt

just something i wrote after death of a loved one.

You lied,
I believed,
the result I grieved.

What you said was true, I was hoping,
but left in the dark, for some support I am groping
without your light I am just moping.

You said you will be forever, 

away from me you will go never,
now how can I believe anybody, ever.

You had been cautioned earlier by the doctor,
you said nothing would stop you from being my protector,
maybe I should have used a lie detector.

But as weeks rolled by
the number of your coughs went high
standing by your side, scared and helpless, was I.

Your health went so bad
you were the only one I ever had
the one who made me happy, when I was sad.

Now the doctor declared it
and my world is slipping bit by bit
and suddenly all the bricks hit.

I so wish the doctor is just wrong

but I realize the day is short and the night's long
banging in my head is this loud unbearable gong.

Saying you have gone far from my reach
but so many lessons left, now who will teach
looks as if someone has applied on my life, lots of bleach.

From all colors my life has been drained

beyond my comprehension is, what ruthless god gained
by taking you. Now so many are pained

Now I know the banging gong wasn't true

because from clouded eyes I saw some hue
for the over rated truth, I won't sit and rue

Little by little bit by bit
I realized my life is still lit
because guiding me is your spirit

There won’t be in my heart a "you" shaped hole
let them come, I can fight all monsters and trolls
because near me I can always feel your soul

You will be with me forever
and away from me you will go never
how could I dare to doubt you, ever

Its nice homage to someone you cared for but the thing is people and their memories always live with us just hold on to things which are dear to you.
