Over an Overture

Over an Overture

A Poem by Sara Henry Heistand
"

Honestly, I wrote this around a TMBG lyric ("Don't Let's Start" - a personal fave), but it may have crashed and burned despite my good intentions.

"

I would like to describe how you’re feeling;

The feat’s a high climb, though I’m not sure yet

But I could borrow some breath to sing.

Mountains won’t sway with me like the sunset;

He’s all artiste, but I’d quite have it all,

Distance across ages but early met

On the tops of buildings or turret’s fall,

Pass the sage and salvation; I am done

With the legions of gentlemen on call.

Like, it’s constantly this feeling undone

Sappy jokers over moons, fools and knaves

To an industry of lovers out run.
