Pennies from Above

 

How many pennies, if any,

Are you willing to give for thought?

When every day it’s raining,

What two bits never bought?

All and all, my savings,

For wisdom never sought.

With years and years of training,

The dime they’ve dropped, I’ve caught.

Without interest, I ponder and wonder,

The value of what’s been taught.

Can earthly treasures compensate?

With our coffers, full of doubt,

Verily, verily I will say,

Be reassured by faith,

 and you will find the way.

As to the errors, I have too many of my own, so I apologize for not being helpful there.
The message within is the important thing I look for. We all stumbled while learning to walk. Some, like me still do. Thanks for sharing your perspective on "faith".

There's a true sense of joy within the poem, brought on by the rhyme I believe. It's colourful and feels like finding a penny. I do feel like the ending doesn't fit with the start, but I think that about steak and chips...
