Bloodletter

Bloodletter

A Poem by transentience
"

Finding pieces of someone you've known and loved through psychic moments. Dancing to discordian tunes in a time and place that have always been ours. The melancholic awareness of change

"
Eyes in contact
Lost in a glance
Fractals of shame
Revealed in these cracked, familiar faces

Coffee table rituals and chemical trails
Fading into smiles, half-faked

Hiding the numb
Igniting the flames
Of realization:
We are the sum of our memories
Inhaled by our dreams
Like nothing ever changed

Acting out our final promise
Smoke in silence
Our inner tyrants
Pay Homage
To the tales we wrote
But never lived
And still, we hope
To be
Not forgotten

Sensing features with our fingers
Tracing curves into the air
Lightning clouds the sky's expression
Vibrance leaves us stranded there
Begging for our recollection...

Clenched by hours
Shattered glass
Slice our hands
Dried in surrender
Stories dis- and re-assemble
Our dualist nature, sweet and bitter

This Bloodletter:

Conditions of our letting go
Our Human ties
In time,
We know
Bind us through our transformation

Rotted, cystic flesh collections
Breathing dust, we lust for bones
Birthed in two--cocoon dissections
From life to death to love
Unknown

there is ritual in addictions ..especially drug addictions ... i think it is the coffee table that reminds me of that .. i see the clutter swept aside and trails of powder on smudge grimed glass .. very aptly titled , i think ..we are very human after all .. and feelings, memories, trials and disappointments all collide sometimes ... letting go can seem an only option after struggling so hard .. i usually turn to our Creator in such circumstances but i like the line of connection you draw in our universally shared lives and deaths ... your poem brings that new perspective to me .. i like the free form ..its a nice break, of your seven lines each, into two closing verses .. puts defining emphasis on those last three lines says i!

The language you use is beautiful. The third stanza gave me chills. "Smokescreen silence, the fall of tyrants" Not quite sure I know what it means but damn that sentence is sexy

Thank you kindly...Enigmatic is exactly how I felt writing this
Wow, beautifully, darkly written. Enjoyed it more than I should, lol. Appropriately dark and Gothic.

Thank you so much. I tried to balance the darkness with some glimmers of fond reflection

There is hint of that reflection...
