Religion

Religion

A Poem by Ricky Campbell

Who knew grown men could act like such children

That we would fight over a topic so absurd

Religion

Why do they bicker and fight if they're trying to find peace?

Very contradicting to say the least

There are countless religions in our world today

And what they all aim for is very easy to say

To please God and to do no wrong

All with similar key points but differing details

Some are the total opposites

They stand out and believe in what they want

They don't care what others are thinking of them

They want to find peace

That is the type of religion I admire

Not the kind who will nuke each other over something so minor

Violence is petty, brutal, and unnecessary

Seems difficult for most to understand

We can coexist in peace

By not stepping on or taking another mans land

If there is a dispute, there is no need to take it to the battlefield

Talk it through with one another, say how you really feel

All of our problems are so avoidable

People keep on overlooking this

We need to make a change to our world

And we can start like this

War is absolutely necessary because we're so beastly, but yeah, dying because we believe there's something after this with golden streets is stunning. STUNNING. Whatever happens next will be a result of the destruction of mythology as truth.

I weep for what have come to religions nowadays, the men's acts of selfishness and Ego mania is what have wronged and distorted religion, for my own personal religion it is till now that I begin to discover the true Islam and let me tell you , it is buried under centuries of manipulation. religion suppose to be the unifying thread od peace, but nowadays it serves the opposites .

Very good piece here. I agree, we should all be able to live peacefully, regardless of our beliefs. We should let each other be free to believe the way they want...without the violence. I have friends of many faiths, lifestyles, ect...we all respect each other. They know where I stand on my beliefs and I know where they stand on theirs. No arguing. If only the whole world can be like that. Great write Ricky.

One God that made us all, so many interpretations of His word. Love is His main gift to us. We need to learn to love all peoples and our enemies need to learn the same thing. Valentine
