- Caged -

I’m trapped; caged in, hard to get out

 words flies, as truth denies

shame!

Crows flocks in hunger

eating little by little of what you served

overworked!

Shying away, evasive in many means

 caffeinated poison

keeps me

 awake!

Capital will always find ways to cut down company's cost and most of the time at the expense of labor. Sometimes it makes me think that we are the modern day workers trapped in corporate sweatshops.. Ah, the coffee thing, my mind could not function without coffee (average of 5 mugs a day). Truly glad to read from you, again. :)

The employer as crow is fitting imagery. Pecking away on us constantly, drinking of our sweat & toil and we expend our youth, our life force, slaving for them with rare rewards. The caffeine overload only makes it worse. You have made a point so well here, Pax. Greatly appreciated.

This is so brilliantly done, my friend. Captivating thoughts flow through your words, and create such electric landscapes. Powerful.

It is sad how over worked and unappreciated the working class man (and woman(for all the people that don't understand the use of 'man' as in mankind in this context.)) is. Though without them, the world would fall apart. It's sad how one has to poison themselves to only stay alive in this society. This is an excellent piece of literature.

So many have come to rely on the caffeine to just function. The rat race makes the workers feel like they are nothing more than labouring animals - beasts of burden to be worked until they drop for the fat cats.
Cool piece Pax. Good to read you my friend.

Very unique words over here...you focused more on surrealism and impressions rather than emotions to convey the negative word "caged".

Pax , I though we had lost you for a bit there, so glad you have returned, i love the visual effect of this piece , to deny the shame of truth, well there is a mouthful right there, it's the truth of something shameful we keep locked inside our heads that causes our subconscious the most damage. How they all flock to see that pain, trying not to sleep because the subconscious knows the secret of shame and it comes in dreams that haunt us, yes, such a wonderful piece. we must set that shame free my friend

I often find myself feeling this way as of late; as my responsibilities just become overwhelming. I somehow keep my head above water, but only through working like a mule. 18-20 hour shifts are not at all uncommon. It is hard to look for something else, or to improve your lot in life when all your energy is devoted to just getting through another day. Good luck on surviving your daily grind sir' make sure not to end up like those beans... ;)
