Locked Away

Locked Away

A Poem by Christopher 'Windstorm' Kells

A spark flickers
In darkness
A time of gloom
Consuming
A world of hatred
Innocents lost
A man created
Out of a boy lost

Flames soft
Pale glow
Illuminating
Burning bright
But yet so low
In a small
Bare room
Felt like
A tomb, a void
Frustrated

Awakening
A powerful beast
Hidden deep within
Brought to the surface
To survive
A heartless cell
Coping
Strengthening
Molding a mind

Scares carried
Falsification made true
A mind hiding
Surviving resolve
Never give in
Never give up
Patience exhausted
Blood in blood out

Controlled by fist and action
A world like mid-eval times
Strongest survives
Weakness exploited
Strong willed
Driven to their knees
Weakling standing strong
Looking
But don’t see
Lies poured like water
Emotions turned off
Action
Not hesitation
Are you a man?
Or a punk b***h

Reason
Turned into barbarism
Take what you want
Or lose what you have
Time drags ever on
New days
New problems
Handle your business

One single action turned
Into years of living hell
Sorrow filled for what
All that has transpired
Illusions of grandeur
Yet having nothing
Not even choice
Act or fall
Courage or coward

Thru these eyes
Nine cycles pass
A boy goes in
Comes out
A strong willed
Humbled man
Freedom
Salvation
A new chance
To make it right
Yet no bitterness
Just shame
I live again…
