This is an excellent Haiku. One of the best haiku's I have read in recent times. I especially like the alliteration with b's and e's. I also like the subtle suggestion for being penny-less. The object of desire could have been anything. Captures an event, perhaps tragicomic, in three lines. Thanks for sharing.

I really love this, a penny for your thoughts and he's paid for every one till he's now destitute, or without Penny either way it's a brilliant play on thought in three lines or less...amazing and so clever!
