Soaring

Soaring

A Poem by Rayne Stanton
"

when you love someone, truly love them.

"

I lay on the soft blue grass

staring at purple stars

that seem so far

away from the world

where I want to be

with the love

I don’t regret

Who’s to say what’s far

and what’s near?

When I can be close to you

 and feel far away

only to want to get closer

to your beating heart

Only when I soar will I want to land

while I’m down all i want is to soar

nothing like this before

can take away what I hold

dear to my aching chest.

I see you smile at me

from where you soar above

you reach your hand down

and pull me on up

Your arms wrap around me

and make me feel safe

as we soar together across this sky

we fly onto the other side

where no one will judge

our crooked love.

Reading this I realise I have much to learn, I find that putting 'emotions' down on to paper is difficult but you seem to 'flow' them with ease.
Oh how the heart yearns to be heard.
