It’s enough

To say

You’re ok

But,

To act ok

Takes great

Skill.

I watch dust

Collecting

On your eyes

As you force yourself

To forget.

You can’t hide

Your true feelings

Forever.

Locking them

In your secret

Vault

Won’t help you.

Volcanic eyes

Butchered

And

Bloody

I call out

Your bluff.

You deny me

Every time.

But those eyes

Call my name

Every

Miserable

Time.

I reach to

Help you.

Your eyes

Scream,

Try to tear away.

In an instant

They are drowning.

The cloudy film

Coats them

Threatening

To seal them

Forever

If they spill

Anymore secrets.

Face turns to granite

Eyes set

On a dead miracle

Using all

Your energy

To bring it back

To life.

That simple “I’m ok.”

Stitches my mouth shut.

Asking again

Will rip the sutures

Only leaving us both

In pain.

This is a really deep poem with a right to be called poetry. I also like the way you formatted it with short lines, making the reader examine every word. Liked it.
