About Me

In the dark of the night, when my family is sleeping, God talks to me... he jumps right in my body. He says, You are not my friend... and you are not my son. Youre just a little space Im using... to hide some of my silence.

- Jim White

Thanks for the review of Panic. I'm glad you liked my jaunty rhythm. I think I imagined this as spoken word, which is why it has such a strong rhythm. Yes, this is one of 3 poems I wrote while in the hospital last weekend. (The middle one, for unknown reasons, was a light love poem.) I am OK now, having probably sent a gall stone packing.

Thanks, Jonathan, for the review of Admitted. It is odd the juxtaposition of a hospital admission with a relatively cheery rhythm for the poem. It's a lot cheerier than Panic, which I wrote at least half a day earlier in my stay. I think I made the rhythm jaunty in part because I was talking about the rhythms of the hospital. Got to have rhythm. LOL.

Hi Jonathan, thank you so much for reviewing "Had I ..." always appreciate help offered, truly. Can you tell me how tomake the 3rd stanza not so stumble?

I see you live in Glendale, not so very far ~ Tucson for me. Lived in Tempe for years. Anyway, good to meet you! ~j

Ha, do I know Rumi. Yes, I have. I recently started reading his work. I read his work and thought, "Wow! This is how I was meant to write," not so much that I wish to emulate him, only that the way he writes is the way I think. You should check out Billy Collins. You might like his work. Anyway, thanks for reviewing my poem.

I am most glad to satisfy some part of your geeky soul. I really was trying to see if I could justify Europa, and Io too, but Titan is the one with the slushy seas heated by radiation. I actually did my research. LOL. Thank you so much for the read. Whimsy it was.
