About Me

"What can my enemies possibly do to me? My paradise is in my heart; wherever I go it goes with me, inseparable from me. For me, prison is a place of (religious) retreat; execution is my opportunity for martyrdom; and exile from my town is but a chance to travel." Ibn Taymiyyah.

'And there is no good in loving a colorful person
if the wind was to deter he would deter with it' Imam Shafi'i

'You know, a long time ago being crazy meant something. Nowadays, everybody's crazy' Charles Manson.

Yes I just quoted two very famous scholars of Islam and then one of the the most notorious serial killers of all times. What can I say? I love Islamic scholarship and Criminology.

I'm fairly agitated about my writing, it's why you won't see a lot of it. I like writing English short stories and novels. Arabic is too complicated a language and, despite the fact that I've lived in Saudi Arabia my whole life, I speak English much better. I do read Arabic poetry; the quote above from Imam Shafi'i is actually a verse from a poem; believe me, it sounds much better in Arabic. I read English poetry as well, but it's not nearly as good as Arabic poetry. I would say, however, that English novels are far better than Arabic ones. Don't read Girls of Riyadh, by the way, it's absolutely horrible.
