About Me

"Poetry is writing that infers far more than its literal interpretation."
I write poetry to say things I cannot say any other way. The poets I admire most include Sylvia Plath, Brecht, Rilke, T.S.Eliot, Walt Whitman, e.e.cummings, Robin Roberston and Don Paterson.

Born in 1970, I grew up in Brighton on the south coast of England. I currently live in Middlesex with my husband and two young sons.

Changing the Wheel
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I sit by the roadside.
The driver is changing the wheel.
I don't much like where I have come from.
I don't much like where I am going to.
Why am I watching the wheel being changed
with impatience?
Thank you for your review Julia, it means a lot, particularly as I'm going through a time when I find I have little to say of a poetical nature. You give me hope there may be something in my scratchings that even I can't see. I'm happy to see some new work from you, which I shall read in the morning, when I'm not too tired to appreciate it.
Thanks for those words, Julia. Yes, as a high school teacher, I've had to grab onto a few wayward adolescents... not what I was expecting when I chose the career but I seem fated to the task. (It's not entirely thankless, though)
:)
