Syrmah

Currently aged 23 and have been writing poetry for approximately 8-9 years, since secondary school.

I work as a tutor and administrator for a private college in the North-West of England and also have 2:1 in English Literature, Creative Writing and Practice. During the three years at Lancaster University where I paid particular attention to literary philosophy, politics, pre-1900s American Literature and oddly enough science fiction.

All have helped to solidify a particular style of poetry but it's the critiquing I miss the most and find my current work lacking in reliable criticisms. Any and all criticisms are welcome, in fact I'd prefer it; I am completely used to deconstructing my work.

My work tend to draw from memory and I pay close attention to the sounds of words and in particular their rhythm; I often use caesura to counteract the flow of writing. I tend not to use a strict form but invent my own that are governed by the aforementioned scrutiny.
