About Me

Im 25 and have been writing poetry since I could rhyme. I've had one poem published when I was 8 and that was pretty much it.

I wrote my sorrow on paper and when I tried to turn my life around I regretfully threw all of my pain away and lost all of the poems that I cherish. Dumb move I know, but what can I say, I'm a Pisces.

So here I am trying to start over and find my new motivation to write some magic.

Here are some of the songs that I listen to religiously... Only a taste of them mind you...

If
Rudyard Kipling

If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you.
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat these two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

You Are A Balanced Babe!

You're direct and to the point, but never dramatic

You've got the confidence to speak your mind to anyone

But you leave the theatrics to Hollywood

Level headed and emotionally stable, no wonder everyone loves you

O, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the winds and whose breath gives life to all the world, hear me. I come before you, one of your many children. I am weak and small. I need your strength and wisdom. Let me walk in beauty and make my eyes ever behold the red and purple sunset; my ears sharp so I may hear you voice in the song of the birds. Make me wise so I may learn the things you have taught my people; the lessons you have hidden under every rock and leaf. I seek strength, not to be superior to my brothers, but to be able to fight my greatest enemy...myself. Make me every ready to come to you with clean hands and straight eyes, so when life fades, like the fading sunset, my spirit will come to you without shame.

Thanks! It was very fabulous. I got to catch up on old friends and make some new ones, and I love all my classes. It's going to be a good year, I think.

Oh, How Cool!! lol. Unfortunately, I do not know anyone who is deaf that I could sign to! To keep from forgetting what I learned, I sign to songs!! Any song, just as long as I practice!! Actually, it is more of a habit (signing songs). We would do that as assignments in class! OH, I also tend to sign when I talk as well! I really don't want to forget!

Yes, I can also "speak" it!!! For my ninth and tenth grade years, I took American Sign Language as my Language for High School... I really loved it!!
