About Me

I'm a recent collage grad looking to make a living as a writer. I enjoy fiction and non-fiction, and have taken courses in technical communications as well as creative writing. I've always been told my strongest asset in writing (aside from my ability to take constructive criticism) is my "strong, unique voice."

Let's see... what else? I love semi-colons, I enjoy the challenge of writing to a strict word limit, and I have a tendency towards writing long complex sentences at times and fragments at others. The former is often unintentional; the latter is almost always done for effect.

Probably my greatest personal strength is being open minded and willing try new things or see the world from different perspectives. Though I tend to take interest in too many things and flit from project to project at times, this gift allows me to relate to a variety of people and see the world from very different angles.

As a result, I tend to focus a lot on the motivations and psychology of my characters and this is the primary driving force in most (if not all) of my fiction writing. In non-fiction, I use this to write balanced accounts of the subject or to fuel my research for the piece.

Similarly: I love studying different religions and philosophies. I love science (though I'm not terribly good at it). And I have always had a natural inclination towards psychology. Besides writing, people typically tell me I should try a career in counseling, teaching, or perhaps marketing.

If you really want to get a glimpse inside my head, read my writing, or (as a short cut) you can look up "Portrait of an ENFP" - for a summary on my personality type.
