General Playwriting Contest  June 5, 2020 - July 18, 2020

Hello fellow play enthusiasts of Writers' Cafe! If you have written a play, or plan to soon write a play, that you feel deserves some recognition and is of high enough quality to stand up in a simple competition, then submit it here to the General Playwriting Contest on Writer's Cafe. Scripts for screenplays, stageplays, and radio-plays are all acceptable, but all entries must be scripts of some sort. The formatting of this script can be in any style you like.

There are three categories of plays in this competition: tragedies, comedies, and histories. We as a community will vote on the best play for each category about halfway through July. If you plan on submitting multiple entries, then please do not submit more than one script for each category.

If your entry is longer than 7,500 words, please indicate a section the script that falls within that limit. Preferably, this would be written as a note to those in the competition at the start of the text. It would be difficult for some of our voters to choose winners if some plays take over 30 minutes to read.

Plans have been designed to hold a playwriting contest here on Writers' Cafe on a monthly basis. Please stay tuned for future competitions.
