So I'm sitting in my room staring at a bowl of apples and I feel inspired. My challenge to you is to create a poem inspired by fruit of some kind. It can be any kind of fruit: apples, peaches, pears, plums, dragon fruit. It's up to you.

You get extra points (they're metaphorical points) if you don't just describe the fruit but actively use it as a metaphor or an allusion or something.

And now, I'm hungry...have fun!
