"

What is your poetry piece going to be about?

"

So, you've figured out the poetry types. The next part is: what is your poetry about? Are you going to write a tearful, love poem, or a rolling-on-the-floor laughing poem? Well, part of the answer may already lie in the poetry type you've picked. For example, if you decide to write a haiku, high chances are your poem is going to be about nature. If you write a limerick, it should be funny, not sad. If you write an epic, a story plot is best. Another big part of it is the mood. If you're writing about Dying, a funny poem would not be appropriate. You can either write funny poems or sad, it's your choice. I prefer sad poems, because I find them easier to write, but if you have a funny personality, than maybe consider a funny poem. Either way you choose, be sure to pick one that you'll enjoy writing, not cringe in frustration!
