What To Do First?A Lesson by dogpackYou must decide what you want to do. I want to write! Are you sure this is what you want to do? What I did to become consistent in writing everyday. The process which worked and still works for me and may help you.You must decide what you want to do. I want to write! Are you sure this is what you want to do? Yes! I thought for many years I wanted to write, which I did however not consistently. I realized many years later even though I was certain I wanted to write, I wasn't ready to write regularly and seriously. This is ok for you to do if you eventually return to writing and eventually start being consistent with this activity. Or perhaps you find out you really do not want to write. Either way you know you best, what you are capable to doing and how fast and far you want to go with your writing endeavors. If writing isn't your thing, perhaps it's more about what you're trying to write. Realize that writing comes easier at times and harder at other times and you have to work through these challenges. One step at a time; one day at a time. Experiment with writing to assess what you know, enjoy, would like to know, your style, and take note of what you find which works for you. The one technique which has made a huge difference in my writing is to "write" "write every day"! This is not difficult. If you can say something each day, you can write something each day. Make a plan which is a challenge you can meet. If you find you need to make slight adjustments, make them so that you are set for success. Comments
