About Me

I'm a computer nerd. I love to program, and I love logic problems. Honestly, I thought long ago that literature was not for me. Reading was boring, writing was stressful, and I had no incentive for either. Then I met the girl of my dreams. She was a book worm. A real bookworm, one who read everyday, for something she seemed to call "fun." I couldn't understand it, but I picked up a book in her favorite series, Discworld, in attempts to get into her pants... *ehem* I mean gain a common ground for conversation. With such a beautiful incentive, I couldn't wait to finish reading and talk. Every page a step closer to a relationship. By the end of the summer, I had read nearly as many books as I had read the lifetime before, and they were books with a sense of humor. Soon, I was reading for myself instead of for b***s, although most of the books I read are by her suggestion. Next, I took an English class with a teacher who I was more than comfortable with. Classes exercised my snark daily, and after a mountain of thesis papers were written, she gave us the opportunity to be creative. She allowed us to write about our lives and our memories. She told us to write memoirs, and taking it as an opportunity to vent my fucked up life, I wrote. I wrote pages upon pages more than the other students, and I filled them with humor and creative license. Though many of the facts were blatantly wrong, the gist was accurate. Every chapter pushed line just a little bit further, and my teacher looked forward to reading them weekly. They were a source of enjoyment and fascination. I finally found that not all writing was dry, awful, and frustrating. These were the first papers I ever received A's on, and I was proud. Now I want more incentive to write and create, and hopefully I can maintain it as a hobby. (Also, reading books totally works for picking up chicks, and we're still dating!)
