Writing is my passion.

What inspires me to write?
The world is full of wonderful stories. One needs to avoid traveling to exotic locations for inspiration. Almost any life experience, when told well, can make a great story.

A large part of being a good storyteller is being a good listener. You would be surprised by the great story ideas that abound when you converse with a friend, an acquaintance, or even a stranger.

I write because I must. It may seem trite, but it is the only reason that makes sense to me. When I don't write, my mind becomes a muddle of thoughts and images. Writing gives me a way to process the chaos by putting pen to paper or mouse to keyboard to the brain. Connecting these dots is a simple and necessary catharsis to bring order back to my world.

I write because I love words and their power to draw a unique picture in each reader's mind. I love the sound; the musical rhythm of words written well and spoken well.

Birthday: April 30th (um, sorry, not revealing the year. You’ll have to guess)

Please, NO READER REQUESTS for HORROR, DEMONIC, SATANIC, EMO, GOTHIC, PORNOGRAPHIC, or EROTICA.

[To be clear, GAY-LESBIAN genres are fine, just none of the above].

***SERIOUS WRITER’S ONLY: IF YOU’RE NOT INTERESTED IN BECOMING THE ‘BEST’ WRITER YOU CAN BE, PLEASE DON’T FRIEND ME!***

I will respond to all private messages and review/critique requests as quickly as possible. But please limit your genre to that listed above.

I don't pre-read work before critting and I don't read other crits first (fresh eyes::wink::) I read one paragraph, and if the work looks like it will hold my attention, I'll dive in. If I find a bunch of typos or basic grammar errors I stop cold! So please use at least a spell checker available in virtually every program before posting. Nobody, especially me, wants to read a draft that is ‘that‘ rough.

Just coming out of one of the lowest periods of my life and I think I'm ready for some new writing and a bit of reading requests from others.

For the read requests, for me, please no goth or horror, romance. Most other's I'll be happy to read. If I find I cannot read your piece constructively, I'll let you know.

It's been awhile and it looks like WC has taken a real hit in many ways...I wonder how many people I knew are still here?

Write a short essay (<2,500 words) of an event in your life. Use first person POV.

You can submit up to five entries. (Consider the works of Mary Karr, Augusten Burroughs and David Sedaris as inspiration).

I would really like to critique some short, dramatic pieces — short stories. No goth, romance, horror, etc., please. If you’ve go the stuff, let me see it.

It’s sad that the forum section on WC isn’t more active.

I don’t want to be rude, but please don’t send read requests for POETRY and anything that has not at least had a thorough spelling check. Grammar errors are fine, I like working through those, but basic spelling should be a basic thing done to all work before posting. When I get bogged down in typos, I just can’t get in to the piece and that’s not fair to the author. So, if I see more than a couple of typos, I stop reading. Use a spellcheck, almost every program has one. If you’re on a Mac, even Safari has spelling/grammar check build in. Please use a spellcheck!

It took me a while to learn how to include a link in my comments. Here is a template if you would like to do so.

< a href=”link-path”>TITLE< /a>
[delete the space before after the opening < and after the < of the anchor tags]

around anchor tags. I had to add them so the code would show and not become a link]
