The Points of Interest in Ragnarok

World Map of Gaia/ Ragnarok:

When the worst ending to the world war of Gaia came 250 years ago, there had been plenty of historical, interesting, along with beautiful landmarks back then. However, many of those same great landmarks were lost after the devastating blasts from the west and east's nuclear warheads. Yes, during the rise of Ragnarok, many of the familiar places, cities, attractions, and much more that formerly represented Gaia beforehand faded away into history as the result. Yet, in the end and despite the dangers of life nowadays, some landmarks survived the hard times while new ones have risen from Ragnarok's radiated wastelands, plains, mountains, and so on and so forth.

Kentarn - Homeland of Humanity

"Our homeland of Kentarn has taken many beatings in the past. During the darkest ages, it survived the many wars of our ancestors that eventually united it under one banner. During the industrial age, it endured against the invading wolken when we fought them alongside the elves. Even now, even though dreary, Kentarn has taken the worst beating of all... and lived on to see its people recover as well build this magnificent city of Sanctuary." - Princeton, Leader of Sanctuary

It is true. Much like how Gaia has very much changed for the worst over the past 250 years, the human realm of the mid-west or namely "Kentarn" has fallen from its former place of grace also. Nevertheless, even with the end of the world evident around it, this historical nation of humans still shows off the same traits on the map it did during the hundreds of years before now; bravery, courage, faith, hope, glory, love, and much more other grand things.

As it is the hopes of mankind to maybe one day make their modern ancestors proud of them, humans are also very eager in seeing their province of Kentarn become leader like in the eyes of their allies. As it once had been in the past during the age of Gaia, the homeland of mankind will one day be dotted with glorious cities, be powered with impressive technology, along with be protected by a most brave army again.

And with the construction of hardy Sanctuary becoming increasingly successful, with mans' allies newly inspired by them to recover, the magnificent ending to the current age of Ragnarok may fortunately be closer at hand than the hopeful folk of Kentarn think.

Lytainia - Homeland of Elves

"If the goddess didn't already live in the great tree, Yggdrasil, there's only one other place that would suit her beauty, kindness, along with powers perfectly. I speak, of course, of the place where the trees are practically golden, where the waters are as sparkly as diamonds, where the happy energy is visible in the very air. I speak of Lytainia." - High Priest of Sanctuary

With its vast seas of forests made up of pine, ash, birch, elm, golden wood, cherry, along with many more types of trees and foliage, Lytainia has been a finer than fine home for the elves since the start of all things. Of course, with the flow of magic having always been the strongest in this certain region, the homeland of the elves has always been grand, regal, just downright perfect looking to everyone else outside of its borders. To the outside world, Lytainia is the proper example of what heaven would be like if on earth.

Naturally, when wreaking havoc, the wolken hadn't looked to invade this angelic domain for its beauty. No, during then, the wolves of the east had sought to seize the reasons behind elven prosperity, wisdom, skills; they had sought the magic evidently keeping the landscape healthy. Yet, even though they had been spared from the destruction of the wolves of the east during the invasion of the industrial age, the magical seas of forests were not kept from being hurt by the radiation of the nuclear strikes 250 years ago. Filled with dying foliage, with prowling mutant predators, the golden woods of Lytainia are not as gold as they once were.

Nevertheless, with the aid of the arcane at their fingertips and by the orders of their fair queen, the returning elves maybe be able to save the sea of forests of Lytainia from suffering from poisoning for eternity. And truly, seeing how man has erected as well as sustained Sanctuary in the midwest, the elves are more determined than ever in reclaiming their forests from danger, in fully getting back in touch with the arcane, along with becoming as cultural as they were before Ragnarok came into being.

Orden - Homeland of the Western Anima

"Is there ever a time or place where these mountains are not covered in snow or are being hammered by some blizzard? No? Well, I suppose I should be grateful. They've always said our kind have been strong and this cold - bah - is only making us stronger, isn't it? Anyway, might as well get back to work. The elders as well as humans won't wait forever for these materials and this ore isn't going to mine itself." - Anima Bearkin, Miner of Garm

Back in the day before Ragnarok, Kentarn actually stretched from the mid to the north west regions. When the wolken were pushed back from Lytainia during the industrial age and the anima rebels were accepted by mankind into the community, Kentarn served as the homeland for the western anima leading up to the nuclear fallout at the end of the world war 250 years ago. Then, when they had returned to the surface, the anima of the west gradually formed together in the now unclaimed northern reaches to form the nation known as "Orden" nowadays.

Mind, while recovering from the nuclear strikes for the last 250 years, mankind didn't exactly unify under one banner until the recent construction of Sanctuary. By the time that certain human citadel was complete, the resolute anima of the west had already successfully, effieciently, as well as richly made the cold north that had formerly been Kentarn into their own realm. Nevertheless, this fact of human land being converted into anima territory didn't create any hostilities. Surprisingly, to be honest, it bettered relations.

In the north, especially with it being Ragnarok these days, the lifestyle is a harsh, bitter, yet rewarding one. Amongst the mountainous terrain of former Kentarn now Orden, there have always been and are many heavy deposits of metals, minerals, ores, so on. Due to this truth, the Orden anima - especially the durable Bearkin people - have established numerous mining sites. They have become experienced laborers, traders, along with travelers too. Also - with their might, their diversity, their beliefs - the anima have grown to become invaluable allies, friends, and companions to have during the days recovering from Ragnarok.

The capitol of Orden, carved into the side of a mountain just above a stony valley, is Garm. There, the various anima's representatives or elders that make up the council of the people reside and wisely watch over their increasingly prosperous north kingdom. Across Orden, the bear, bird, fox, rabbit, cat, along with other animal folk work towards remaining allied with the outside world, in staying happily prosperous alongside each other, in not becoming failures of Gaia like the wolken had turned out to be 250 years ago.

Orden Points of Interest:
1. "Garm" - Capitol of Orden, Leading Mine
2. "Underworld" - The Huge System of Mines throughout All of Orden
3. "Labyrinth" - The Mountainous Borderline between Kentarn and Orden
4. "Cobalt Coast" - Where the Bearkin Young go to Become Adults
5. "The All Sights" - The Keen Raven Folks' Look Out Posts

The Unknown East/ Formerly the Wolken Empire

"Have you ever noticed how our ancestors had good reason to never like the east in the past? Well, heh, we don't even have an east to hate anymore. I mean, jeez, look at it all. Beyond this point, there's nothing but ruins, wastelands, just emptiness in general. When the launched their missiles back in the day, I guess the wolken bit off more than they could chew. Man hit them back so hard that they and their empire vanished into thin air." - Human Soldier, Posted in Fated Pass

Throughout history, even more than ever now with the chaos caused by the nuclear fallout, the east has always been a place of poison, dangers, and mystery most of all. As explained beforehand, at one time in the past, the anima species altogether took up that side of the super continent. When the wolfish wolken rose to power though, the eastern realm was fated then to become a land that would be feared, hated, as well as repelled by the western civilizations forever afterwards.

Even with the age of Gaia having passed by and Ragnarok present, the west has very good reason to continue to look upon the east - even though empty, quiet, a void in itself - with hateful mistrust. In the first place, the western peoples have fallen from their places of grace due to the past actions of their eastern counterparts. In the second place, the east may be silent nowadays but its eeriness, dangers, plus history are more than plain to those who go anywhere near it. And as for going anywhere near the eastern side of the super continent, the few who do are usually the most experienced units of the human, elven, along with anima military.

Whether or not it is obvious to see, there is a reason for why the west sends its best warriors, soldiers, defenders, to watch over the only pass - the Fated Pass - that links the grim eastern reaches to the cautious western lands. There is a reason why sane citizens do not venture near that pass. All a person has to do to learn why is simply ask anyone who has gone close to that area and that anyone would claim that their hearts had increased in speed, their blood had gone cold, and their eyes had maybe seen things that weren't there.

250 years ago, Ragnarok was started. Today, the west is energetically trying to recover itself from the aftermath. As for the east, nothing is going on or is truly known about things over there. Yet, each time anyone is sent over there to try to figure out why things seem so quiet... those individuals, no matter how talented, hardly come back. And if they do come back, they don't come back the same or sane.

Serkwesh

"Yes, the elves definitely know how to disappear at whim. Nevertheless, I've overheard some of the junior rangers here with us tonight that the lizdra anima in the southern marshes have the ability to make themselves invisible just as easily as the sharp ears do in the golden forests. Well, the reptiles can have those swamps. That's not the issue. It's just a shame that I can't get them to come onto firm land for a nice chat about a possible alliance, you know?" - Princeton, Leader of Sanctuary

When the wolken invaded the elves so long ago, the rest of the anima species rebelled against such harsh actions that would supposedly secure glory for them all. Amongst the anima who would help the west win against the east and be quite successful at it too, were the Lizdra or the reptilian folk closely allied with the amphibious ones. Since then, since the industrial age where they were called traitors by the wolves of the east to the Ragnarok age today, the reptiles have self established the swampy coastal kingdom of Serkwesh just south of Lytainia.

Nowadays and as they have done in the past, with or without the understanding of the patient elves, the Lizdra have survived, hunted, built, along with plenty more while remaining completely cut off from the outside world. No, while the northern anima are more than eager to earn the alliances of humans as well as elves, the southern anima are not and have never been at all interested in such things. Perhaps, when the world war came to such a terrible end 250 years ago, the Lizdra's mistrust, impatience, along with caution towards outsiders have been dramatically increased.

More and more like the east with each passing day, little is known about Serkwesh nor the scaly people it is the homeland for. All that can be said for sure is that Serkwesh is just off of the coast of Lytainia, that the marshlands are a distraction, and that the Lizdra's actual homes are underwater in the collections of reeds.

As for the northern anima, they say that the southern anima will one day realize that they need others than just themselves to reach their full potential. Hopefully, someday soon, that prediction will come true. Most certainly, the Lizdra would help the west very much and, in turn, the west would help them just as much if given the chance.
