The Lotus Eaters Forum EX#20: SimCity Industry

Many towns and cities have a dominant industry. For instance, for Green Bay it is now paper mills, but at one time it was meat packing, hence the name of the football team the Packers. In Wisconsin it is quite common for towns to be based on an industry. The town of Kohler literally was built up around the company of Kohler, which makes, foremost, plumbing. The town of Johnsonville is known for it’s meat company, and what I consider to be well deserved fame for bratwurst. The dominant industry has a lot of influence in a town, whether it’s power because of the money it makes, or because so many people depend on it for employment. Give your town a dominant company or industry.
