Not a story - a conversation, ..
Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoI saw that this group was made for authors to meet each other, but all I see is a list of one author posting over and over. So this is not a story.
Hi, I'm Jenig and I'm in Portland, OR. This is the second Portland I've lived in. You wouldn't be able to guess where the first one was. Anyone reading? |

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years Ago Hey Jenig, my name's Monique and I live in Arizona. I thought the same thing, only stories are being posted. Honestly I'm just a new writer trying to meet other writer and see their experiences and mine.

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoHello, I'm also new here and I think I agree with what you said. Honestly, I'm still figuring out how to use this site so tried to join some forums and see how it goes. By the way, my name is Aleks. I am a Psychologist and self-development writer but I also love fiction
and studied Creative Writing and Psychology at university. I plan to go back
into fiction in the not too distant future so I thought it would be good to
befriend intriguing people with interests in all kinds of genres. Looking
forward to keeping in touch. Have a great day. :)

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoI love how my mind ventures on its own into a myriad of stories. I have never been able to complete my compositions but I hope that someone would help me as I continue writing my ideas into text. I am from the south east and Philippines has been my paradise for 24 years.

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoBarbara: from California. I am NOT, at the moment, threatened by wild fires. My spouse is away and I find the solitude enables writing. Do housemates intrude on other writers' time?

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoI am James Nuzzello, and it's always my pleasure to have a conversation with fellow writers. My pen name Jimmy Nuzz, which goes way back. I also came up with a genuine (mini) aphorism, which if you're ever on; my writing. You'll see ' Be immune to rumor ' at the closing following my pen name. Its an original idea born out of years of reading. It occurred to me a long time ago. That the most colorful writers of all time. Always have something interesting, something unique. A catchy saying they made up, and some how the words were always left behind as sort of a memory of them. Its amazing to me that as an aspiring writer. To follow the tradition of fabricating such great words for our own use. We are the new millennium of aspiring writers out here. Doesn't it make sense, while we leave our mark, to add words separated by the hard work of writing. Leaving something to be remembered by. As an aspiring writer myself, and always seeking an inspiration when it transends itself. If not for my own active imagination, I would have never gotten as far as I have. I hope by listening to this wonderment, and interesting legacy, left behind from other writers. All of us shall come up with a catchy expression, and plug those words in any chance we can. I believe your getting my drift. We all could stand for a moment to lean back, and work on our greatness. Hope and Peace be your fortune. To my fellow writers, " Be immune to rumor " Jimmy Nuzz

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoOregon, Portland...let me see. Its either Maine, or some other parts unknown/maybe. I have personally traveled all over the United States. If the answer is someplace else. Lay it on us. Jimmy Nuzz. I am originally from Connecticut, its not saying much in my defense, but then again. I made it my business to be from anywhere.

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoI would have to guess Portland, Maine, unless you are of some obscure Portland of which no one is familiar.
I just joined the site today, so I'm learning the functionality of it all. I have published one short poem, feel free to check it out. I am in the process of going to school to live out my second career as a Paralegal and, eventually, as a lawyer. My first career incarnation was as a Chef. I live in Arizona and love it here, although, my gypsy ways will probably call me elsewhere as the winds change. I love meeting new people, so please feel free to message me and strike up a conversation!! |

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoI just joined Writers' Café today, it seems very cool! I've been looing for a way to get some of my less serious writing out there, and for a while I was using WattPad, however, I found that I was disappointed by most of what I found, and that it was difficult to get writing noticed. I love to read, and obviously to write, and I love art.

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoI love the idea of "not a story, a conversation"! For one thing, I haven't posted anything new very recently and often find myself inspired by conversation. However, I do have a number of poems that have been well received, plus the first few chapters of a "novel" I'm working on that is close to my heart, although it's more of a character study than a traditional story arc, except toward the very end.
The latter is very much a work in progress. It may have limited appeal; late-seventies rock and some of the other music I loved growing up form a backdrop for many scenes, which may be lost on some readers. Also, it has some explicit sexual scenes, but I felt them important to the story and thought it silly to gloss over such an important part of the relationship. And ultimately you find that the characters are quite morally upright and even religious. I'm interested in any opinions about what I might do with these two and their love relationship and life situation. Of course, I'm always glad to return the favor and try to give meaningful and useful reviews. I look forward to the conversation. |

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoJane, I just found your story "Addictions" and it's amazing. I'm also on Wattpad and have had much the same experiences you did. I just figured it would take time to develop some online relationships and true dialogue and give-and-take, and I'm pretty new there. Do you have anything else published there?

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoI'm new too.. I've been wanting to do some writing exercises and incorporate it into my schedule. The only problem is I only feel like writing in the middle of the night! Ugh.
Anyone taking part in National Novel Writing Month in November? www.nanowrimo.org I'm thinking of taking a crack at it. I need something to give me a little kick in the butt. |

Re: Not a story - a conversation, if you join10 Years AgoI too am looking for connection with people as well as connection through writing so here goes. I am 27 years old. Name is Laurie. I am a nursing student but have always dreamt of being a published author. I am shy about my book, but poetry is a good way for me to communicate my life journey. I have one son, who is three. I live in Idaho and would live to maybe even find that soul that connects through my writings be it romantic or not. Just someone that i can speak to the very depths of my soul with my words. That is what art through poetry is supposed to convey right?
