About Me

I enjoy writing especially poetry as it allows to express the essence of who I am and my experiences in a very creative way whether it's considered "good" or "bad." In the last years of writing I have seen an evolution of myself as a writer and this idea of connection as well as hope runs through most of my writing. There is a reflection of life as I see it through my narrow scope. Hopefully as I interact with others on this site by reading their work it will open my blinders a bit and let more light in.

I need to rewatch the Dead Poet's Society but I loved this passage from the movie.
We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race and the human race is filled with passion. Medicine, law, business, engineering... these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love... these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, 'O me! O life!...of the questions of these recurring, of the endless trains of the faithless...of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life? Answer. That you are here...that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse.' That the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse.

I rally enjoy this site and others writings so far. As I just write and am not much of a critic my motivation is to encourage. My writing I'd an extension of my soul so I must be careful treading on your souls when reading what you write
