About Me

Children's and YA writer Eric Etkin has been a Copy Writer, Rock Drummer, and Tie-Dye Artist. It's an eclectic background that has lead to an unusual perspective on the elusive art of storytelling.

With an avid interest in quirkiness of all shapes and sizes, he is typically hard at work finding a paper home for the latest voices in his head.

Eric lives in upstate New York with a cat named Kaboo.

thank you, Eric. I appreciate the excellent suggestions you point out in your review of "The Ethereals: Part One." Particularly about the tense, an element often overlooked by many in their critiques.

Ah Eric, I thank you for your honest opinion. It really is hard to find good reviews these days, and you've got it spot on! It turns out that the ones that don't have a star rating happen to be incredibly constructive. It's been so long that I've worked on the story that it seems new to me, and now that I'm wanting to return to it (it's been at least three years) I have a good starting spot! I'll be posting the second part of the prologue in a couple of days.

And yes, the old man is a main character, but you don't know who for the longest time... heheheh.... If you think the beginning is bad, you just wait. I wrote this in the stages where I thought you could never have too many details, so 300 pages could actually be cut down to at least 150 or 200. Don't worry, I'll be cutting them BEFORE I post up the chapters, but it's a flinching tale so far. However, I have big plans for this, and it has its fun parts. I just wish I could tell what exactly I needed to cut...

I like your suggestion for making the wings more etherial. It provides a mystery for the reader to solve... excellent! And yes, I will thin out the narrative precluding the action. Thanks for that.

If I ever figure out how to move my mouse telekinetically, the world's in trouble. As it is, tabbing over field to field takes too much effort. ;)

I just wanted you to know that you have a loyal fan base here; Olivia is bringing her friends to your page and reading your story out loud to them, lol. Will you submit this piece for publication anytime soon?

Kasia.
