Ancient personal history begins with life as an Army brat, Vietnam Era. No home town is perfectly inconvenient when meeting new people, invariably someone will ask, "where are you from?" Worse than that, the most popular social media complains that my profile is incomplete.
My lack of home town and status as an only child likely spawned my obsession with reading and writing. I relish observing my surroundings, making up stories about the people and sights, and then telling them or writing them down. I'm chronically obsessed with filling in the blanks for my ancestors with stories that might fit their time in history. Occasionally and to the delight of my family I go into remission from this obstinate need.
My family includes a husband; three daughters with corresponding son in laws; and five spectacular grandchildren. To a person they prefer my more fantastical stories.
A providential turn of events led me to the perfect stomping ground that feeds my imagination for the historical, and the far-fetched. A little over a year ago my husband and I moved to the Blue Ridge Mountains. We live in a rustic cabin on a farm that has been in my family for generations. DOGS! I forgot to mention my dogs! Aw well, if you read my stories, you will become well acquainted.
